    I did look at the ad for the L&H, but it says the intonation is dicey.

    That's what made me hesitate on the L&H. From the ad, it sounds like it needs a trip to the luthier's.

    Looks like the L&H and the Martin both sold (surprise surprise). MemphisBelle, did you get the Martin? Really, both were very good deals.

    i did not. Betcha someone bought it without hearing it first. Oh well. The search continues!

    It's so easy nowadays with the internet to quickly research instrument pricing. i hope everybody had a good ride on these mandolins and the deals weren't too good to be true.

    Someone mentioned Morris Mandolins. I recently found an Morris A5 in Eugene, Oregon for $700. It is excellent sounding and plays really well. I also have an A2 GIBSON 1921, that is a real fine sounding but there’s just something about that Morris that I really love. Good luck.
