With 2020 almost gone and nothing used from my yearly travel account, I might as well start spending it

There have been a lot of wonderful You Tube and Facebook concerts and videos as a result of things being shut down. One I have been following regularly is from Leland Sklar who puts out a daily video with his thoughts and recordings of music he has participated in over the years. He has an amusing take on things and always brings a smile. Another has been the Fur Peace Concerts from Jorma Kaukonen and a few others. These have been just about weekly on Saturday nights for an hour and a half. Paul Simon and Joan Baez were doing semi regular things at the start of the shutdowns but I have not seen anything new for a while.

Minnesota Public Radio puts out a schedule of online concerts and shows every week. There is something about every night, some free, some free will offering some paid.

I agree. I wanted something positive to remember the year by so I bought a new mandolin recently, too. Always good to look for the bright side in spite of all the tragedy.

Well I managed to convince myself that the money I’m saving on gas, not having to drive about 65 miles a day to and from work since last March, due to this COVID BS, would help finance a mando upgrade, so I have a new (to me) used Collings MT-O arriving on Friday.
    Tick, tick, tick.....

I had the virus. It wasn’t a big deal, and I’m 65, have asthma and am rehabbing a heart condition. If your health isn’t compromised with other serious issues your chances are very good you’ll be fine if you get it, if you’re taking care of yourself (I am). Meantime, there isn’t a lot to do beside sit in the kitchen, play my new Ellis, drink coffee, and make videos. I’m working on a new tune every day. Enjoy your new and old instruments. : ) Life is good + nothing lasts forever = enjoy it while it lasts.

So if you die, it will serve you right for failing to look after yourself.

Yeah, getting more practice time in here too, very nice benefit.

In my case it may be semi-permanent, as my company has abandoned their office space and gone to a pure work-from-home model.

So instead of breaks in the break room, it's mandolin breaks. :-)

I feel for those who don't have that option though, and hope the reopening will be soon.

I guess it's relative, I have it. In the ER once for my O2 saturation. Still low, 88 - 91% Fever cough nausea weak and dizzy. Other than that it's great. it's been almost a week and not much better.

    Thanks

Glad you 2 got Covid-lite, a friend of mine would say it's pretty bad but she's in a coma on a ventilator for the 2nd time so can't speak right now.
