    Default Puisque Belle dame m'eime

Puisque Belle dame m'eime ( Because a beautiful woman loves me) is a secular piece from the 12 century Montpellier codex, and is one of the earliest examples of the notated triplet in Western music. Inspired by the Anonymous 4 acapella version I play the melody on mandola with the mandocello picking up the bass line, doubled by a mandolin with the octave mandolin doubling the melody.

I really like the music but I have to say that video was also quite clever. Good job on both!

Thanks to all for the kind words, I wish i could have gotten a little cleaner with the "Terry Gilliam" style video, but software limitations being what they are...
If you haven't heard the Anonymous 4 version of this tune ( from Loves Illusion) I highly recommend it, but please give your self time, the first time I heard it the repeat button was worn thin until I was satisfied. Also the standard notation is available on line, just Google the title or Montpellior Codex. I was surprised to see it changes meter from 6/8 to 9/8 twice in the piece, and so working with a metronome was not without its challenges. Playing this music, to me, feels like a form of time travel and I hope to attempt some pieces from the Codex Calixtinus ( Miracles of St James , Sant Iago in Iberia) some where in in the future.
