    My first mandolin lessons were with Peter Ostroushko....sitting in his kitchen. We sat down the first time and he took my old Harmony mandolin. Looked at it and handed it back to me. And said exactly that.

    Pain Perdu, it’s scrap bread soaked in a sweet milky omelette mix, fried in butter with powdered sugar and cinnamon on top.
