Thread: Mini Guitar kits

    Default Mini Guitar kits

Got an email today about StewMac's new Mini LP-style guitar. They also have Mini Strats and Teles.

Specs say they are 16.3" scale, which puts them in the Mandola range. I am able to tune my Les Paul Pee in 5ths without re-entrants so these should work as well.

Picked up the LP model. Good body wood, nice neck. Fit was very good. I will likely replace some of the components over time as they are all low end and put on better tuning machines. It is a fun little project. plays nice and sounds OK. Was thinking of shaping the neck to a 4 string, but for right now playing it as a 6 string and enjoying it. you can mess around with different tunings. I think a 20 inch scale length would suit me better. Overall a fun little instrument with a big sound.
