I like it. Just a 23" scale, so it would certainly work in GDAE / GDAD, but that low C course has a sense of Authority, doesn't it?

Interesting, but it looks like it's got a narrow neck to me.
Very strange video. Sounds like it's tuned much higher than a mandocello, I think in mandola range, and the lowest course looks like the two strings get closer to each other as they approach the saddle.

They are now calling it an Octave Mando - GDAE tuning.

Just to note, the tuning of the open strings in the video matches the pitches of my 17" scale length mandola. That highest A3 pitch is doable with a 23" scale length... but really, if I'm going to play an electric mandola, I'll take advantage of one with a shorter scale length.
This one they are calling a mandocello with a 25.5” scale.

oops I did it again
Just got mine delivered today the walnut version
it came tuned D G A E - but I was able to move it to GDAE, and it still holds tune and harmonics ... I have no idea on the gages
I haven't plugged it in yet, and perhaps can post a demo in time
it came with gig bag a 1/4 cable and some Allen keys
First Impressions
for the cost - the quality is decent, it is attractive, does not appear to be sloppy on finish or assembly
no 0 fret, slim ivory covered binding - block fret inlay ( like hoss) 24 frets
the action is nice, the frets are somewhat longer than my weber octave 22", and even my Ratliff mandocello- however slightly shorter than standard guitar
the bridge is telecaster style, and it has no volume unplugged on the e string and not much on the rest ( like any solid body guitar- except its not solid)
so for a semi hollow body octave mandolin its fairly decent. I suppose I would like to see slightly shorter frets and a better bridge
I 'm not sure it could operate as a true mandocello, and don't really intend on going that direction with it- I will probably leave as octave.

I love the look with the walnut finish. I've wanted to hear one and hadn't seen any YouTube videos of that model yet. What are you using for an amp?
Eastman MD505w/K&K, MDO315 w/K&K, MD415GD, Emando (JBbouvier) 5-string
I have a fender champ 100XL, sounds decent clean through it, I do like the compressor on it, chorus gives it a kind of King Crimson Discipline ? feel.
I don't really get into distortion or anything like that
I run it through t.c. electronics delay and a boss delay with boss reverb.
won't have a demo up today, but hopefully soon.
So far overall I'm very happy with it, and for the price I think its a pretty good deal.
the scale is a little longer than I am used to but that does not seem to be a problem yet.
I see they advertise an octave mandolin now but it looks like the same exact thing.
