Howdy Folks,

I'm going to make a replacement pickguard for a Gibson 1916 K-1 Mandocello.
I've got some materials for it coming in the mail: I ordered 2 different thicknesses of acrylic tortoise shell pickguard material from StewMac (both the 2mm and 3mm thickness choices). I'll see which choice seems to be the right balance of sturdiness and weight. I plan to use a non-period authentic mounting bracket arm with a screw into the top binding. I will use the fretboard nail holes and bridge nail hole as per the original.

The owner doesn't care much about the period authenticity, hence my choice of the modern mounting arm (vs the clamp on style, which are hard to find in good repair at a good price). She just wants a pickguard so she can play it without damaging the top.

Does anyone have a 1916 k-1 with a pickguard they might trace onto paper for me? I will pay for your time and postage... I could find an image online, print it to scale and use that, but scaling it exactly may be beyond my current computer skills. Or just draw it out when I have the instrument in hand.

Open to thoughts and ideas, that's why I'm here! Thanks for any help.
