Default Leo Kottke on 10-string -- "William Powell"

I revisited this happy tune that seems to be about a debonair movie star. I'm using a flatpick and emulating Leo Kottke's finger-picking. Recorded with just my Shure KSM 32, this is another preview of my acoustic recording project.

Excellent! You really got the Kottke flavor. I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone else try a Kottke tune on mandolin!

    Thanks!

I like my Buchanan because it can serve as a small guitar. Its response invites guitar techniques of expression and rhythm playing.

Very nice. Such a cool instrument. How is the C string? Does it intonate well?

    Thanks for listening.

I made sure it intonates well, of course. It would not be possible to use as a solo instrument without assuring well-behaved strings. 14.25" scale, gauges are .048, .034, .022, .015, .011.
