Default Focusrite iTrack Solo and iPad camera help

Is there a trick to getting my internal iPad camera to use a mic connected to my Focusrite iTrack Solo?

I want to record a video but use an external mic connected to the iTrack Solo.

Works fine with GarageBand but is there a trick to getting the iPad to recognize the mic when using the built in video camera?

Do i need to download an app?

The ShureMV88 requires an app to be recognized by the internal camera.

    Thanks

When I looked into this a few years ago, an app was needed. I didn’t go that route, and a lot can change in a few years. Do some research via Google if no one here has an answer that works for you.
