Default Just received my first mandolin :)

    Hello all !

First post here and really happy to be around this forum

I read some threads in the past weeks as ... well the bug bit me... so i started to look for a mandolin that wasn't expensive but something good for a starter.
In the process two frieds of mine knew about my new bug and made me a mandolin for my bday which was some time ago, but got the mandolin just yesterday.

It's a super economic one but for starter like me i think that it will serve me well until i understand a couple of thing

I play quite some instruments (badly) played drums as a semy pro for almost 10 years, now i play mainly guitar, but i learned a little bit of Trumpet and learning piano, Mandolin is my new addiction i believe.

It's a super economic one, doesn't sound that bad, ( it's not a Llyod Loar clearly ) i just had to fit the bridge a little bit better to the top, and add some "rubber" material after the bridge and behind the nut.

More than enough to get me started for now, but hey trust me i' will ask you guys TONS of questions in the future

Welcome aboard Brogh. 2 thoughts for you. First is to check out the "Mandolin setup thread" by Rob Meldrum. Second is the Newbie group in the social groups tab beneath the Look and Listen pull down.

    And of course, have fun!

Welcome to the party! As others have said, it is an addiction; I practically have to force myself to put down the mandolin so I can get my practice time in on bass
