Default Dennis Vance receives double transplant

Very good news. Zach sent an email this morning that Dennis received his double transplant yesterday and is now in recovery but awake. Zach posted that here. I had received a call from Dennis on Friday that he'd gotten the call and was on his way to the hospital with his daughter but hadn't heard anything since. Apparently still a lot of testing to do and as with any major surgery, a good amount of time healing I'd think. Stay tuned.

I, too, wish all the best for Dennis and his family. They are great members of our community and wonderful people. I also want to express gratitude to the donor and the donor's family. They certainly have experienced a loss, but turned it into something life-giving for at least one other family. Their contribution is appreciated. Please take a moment to consider making this commitment as well.

    Best wishes,

    Bob

This is great news for Dennis and my thoughts are with him and his family. Just a reminder: there aren't enough organ donors & plenty of patients left on dialysis or worse because of that. Please consider being an organ donor - most states include that information on a driver's license but your primary care physician should also be notified if you are one.

Fantastic news! Keeping Dennis in my thoughts and wishing him a smooth recovery - we can't always have a speedy recovery (as I know nearly 9 months on from completely destroying my kneecap) but if it's a smooth recovery that makes all the difference.

Wonderful news to hear! As a liver and kidney recipient my self, I can say that Dennis has a road to recovery to travel. His first six months are the most critical. Our thoughts and prayers are with Dennis and the Donor family.
