Steinberger Synapse Conversion
I have a Steinberger Synapse, which is a "convertible" baritone that you can also play as a guitar. As a bari it has a 27.85" scale and 2 more frets (and a zero fret) and can be strung with bari strings (BEADGB). As a guitar you use regular guitar strings and roll the built-in capo up 2 frets from standard tuning (E to E) and a 24" scale.
I'm thinking of using it as a 5 -string tuned in 5ths, CGDAE at the 27.85" scale. Any thoughts on string gauges that I should use? I kind of got this idea from the Eastwood 5-string that's coming out.
