Default Happy Birthday Dennis Vance, hoping for a transplant

Happy birthday today to The Mandolin Store's Dennis Vance. Hoping everyone will join in on us congratulating him on another trip around the sun.

Zach, Dennis' son, tells me he's just been released from the hospital after an extended stay dealing with the complications of awaiting a double transplant for kidney and liver. Naturally, dialysis is now a part of his daily routine so the waiting period is one of difficulty, pain and fatigue. Here's extending our best wishes from the Cafe and hoping for a transplant for you soon, Dennis! We're all behind you.

For anyone with questions about his diagnosis and how this came about he goes into detail in this video shared here as part of the feature article from a few months back "Mandolin Builders and Retailers Share Their Pandemic Experience."

Happy B-Day Dennis, Dennis is a really great guy, we've talked mandolins for years now, he's great to deal with also! I sent him some private emails when he was just in the hospital and he's in my prayers! So please everyone send him a message, it just takes a moment and he'll appreciate hearing from anyone of you mandolin crazies out there!

Happy birthday, Dennis! Your crew did a great job getting me the mandolin I just bought from the store but next time I hope to deal with the man himself!

    Happy birthday, Dennis.
I watched your video and can assure you that you have always met your goal of dealing fairly and professionally where I have been concerned -- and that goes back to your days in Ohio when I bought a Blueridge guitar from you.
Although we've never met, you'll be in my thoughts.
    Best wishes,

So true, and when you open a business called The Mandolin Store, that comes with the territory.

Happy birthday, Dennis, and may your candle-blowing wish quickly come true this year!

    Happy Birthday Dennis-

Like many folks I haven't made a large purchase from the mandolin store, but I have bought a ton of mando accessories. I spoke with Dennis' son, Zack a few weeks back who was on a drive back to Tennessee with hopefully more mandolins for the shop. Zack and I had a great chat! Dennis has always been my go to guy for general honest Mandolin knowledge and discussion. I was looking to add another mandolin to my arsenal (a Phoenix Neoclassical). Zack was extremely helpful on the phone and we discussed Dennis' health.

Dennis, my wife is a double transplantee, 31 years ago. These miracles happen every day!

I Keep hope faith and prayer as many other here on the Cafe do the same for you and your family. The best stuff in life isn't stuff at all!

Birthday wishes my dear friend, our thoughts are with you on this Birthday! Enjoy!

Happy Birthday Dennis!! May you soon receive the needed transplants and get back to a normal life. For now, it's a difficult and challenging life to be in the position of waiting for a compatible donor, but keep the faith and hang in there. Once you have the grafts in place and recover from the surgery, you'll be amazed at just how much life has improved and how each new day is an amazing gift!

Happy Birthday, Dennis! You are an honest, knowledgeable guy who is willing to share your time and expertise with folks like me, who telephone or email out of the blue. We never met face to face, but we did a fair amount of emailing and had some phone conversations before the purchases that I made from The Mandolin Store.

Know that you are in our thoughts, and hoping that the wait for a donor is rewarded soon.
