Default In honor of Mr. Bill Monroe...

Hey guys! It's so awesome to be joining this community of mando players. I consider myself an apologist for Mr. Bill Monroe - he is my hero, besides being our nation's first president! I wanted to let you all know about a weekly bluegrass email newsletter that I (and my vast editorial team) are working on launching, called "The Monrover." It's gonna have some amazing inside-bluegrass content that you can't find anywhere else, exclusive interviews and think pieces that DEFEND THE MANDOLIN and BLUEGRASS AS IT SHOULD BE, and as BILL WOULD APPROVE. Every week, period. If you want to subscribe, it's totally free. Go to themonrover.com to sign up immediately! First newsletter ships out next month. Here are some EXCLUSIVE tastes of upcoming stories:

    Introducing the CornChip Pick
Meet Justin Moses’ Cute (and Talented!) Wife
Stuart Duncan revealed to be original founder, CEO of "Dunkin' Donuts"
Interview: Tristan Scroggins & Bilbo Baggins

Go subscribe at themonrover.com! You won't want to miss a single week of this garbage.

Well I’ve signed up. I’ll have to remember to pull this out of the spam folder each month, it will undoubtedly be flagged as garbage. Thanks! Cheers!

Bluegrass "as it should be"?!? Aw, c'mon! Who gets to decide that? You? This seems guaranteed to cause a stir.

Unless, of course, this is purely a parody designed as clickbait. The upcoming story titles seem preposterous, and decidedly un-Monrovian...

    Er... I won't go there

But, I saw Molly Tuttle's name there, so... what the heck - I signed up, in the interest of science.

    Best of luck

Sir, with all due respect, Mr. Bill Monroe gets to decide what bluegrass is and isn't. I'm simply his self appointed representative. Don't shoot the messenger!

With all due respect Bill Monroe died years ago. In the following years what is and isn't Bluegrass seems to have been passed to the fans of the genre. If what is Bluegrass is limited to what Bill heard in his lifetime then you aren't doing him any honor by even thinking the possibilities of new songs died with him. There is a phrase Bill used often that he probably would have applied to that notion. Good luck on your venture.

As a fellow artist, musician, author, creator, Monroe fan and lover of OBVIOUS satire—I look forward to your publication.

Got the first two issues and I brought “Jason” under the hot lights to interrogate him. It’s here in episode 165 of Grass Talk Radio: http://www.bradleylaird.com/podcast/...how-notes.html

    He passed my inspection.
