Thread: 1930s Galiano branded Stradolin- Oval Hole

Default 1930s Galiano branded Stradolin- Oval Hole

Obviously, the seller is somewhat awry with his info on this. Elsewhere, on this site Mike Edgerton has posted a Strad-O-Lin ad that shows one of these for sale at $12-50. I could use the tuners on this mandolin but it is not going for pennies!

If you want to see what one looks like inside take a look at this.

That's an interesting one. Definitely older than my all mahogany Californian. Definitely higher level hardware and decoration. Wonder how it sounds? The seam bulge on the bottom worries me. Then again at that price might be worth fixing up anyway.

Mike thanks for posting that. I hadn't seen that thread, and it was really interesting.

Bear in mind that catalogue page says price EACH. Meaning it is the trade price. Retail could well be double.

Calculating for inflation that $30.00 would have been $440.00 in 2017 (the only year I could find a conversion for quickly). I think that might have been a retail price but I could be wrong.
