    Mandolin Archive Lloyd Loar signed L5 Guitar 77394

    A new record has been added to the Mandolin Archive:
    (1924) L5 Guitar 77394
    Curly maple sides with flamed birch back, Cremona sunburst finish, two-piece figured maple neck with dark wood center strip, "flower pot" peghead inlay, three-on-a-strip open back underwound tuners with engraved backing plate and solid mother-of-pearl buttons, silver-plated metal hardware.

    I had to settle for a late 20s L-5. Frankly I love mine and it fulfilled hero worship twice: Eddie Lang and Mother Maybelle. Good enough for me.

    I do believe that the Loar L-5s sell for less than a Loar F-5.
