    The other day (because of the loss of Julian Bream and me therefore just staggering through youtube) I stumbled upon this guitar workshop:



    It was an immediate motivator. Though I have not yet tried to play this on the mandolin, I am raring to go. What an incredible lesson to timing, taste and voice this video is. What´s more: As a student (also the one on the video that had his playing disected) you cannot begrudge Julian Bream. He just elevates your playing ideas by showing you how he does it.

    Olaf, I almost bailed at the 1970s intro, but am glad I didn’t. I’d never heard of Mr. Bream, but I’ll be looking into his music. Those kids were 3 monster players, and he deconstructed heir playing frankly and with only a little contempt, and then showed them how he’d do it...and, his way was better. Thanks, man...I’m off to the woodshed...
