Default John Ramsey(ave guitars, formly Tejonstreet music) retiring

wow, what a work career. I will say, in the past 10 years or so, I have purchased more instruments(guitars, mandolins, banjos) from this father/son team, than anywhere. I've always received an excellent instrument at a fair price, and both, John and Sean are just wonderful people to deal with. Hoping John (who made mandolins for a while) fully enjoys his well earned time away from the shop duties.

I see a beautiful Martin D-41-always wanted one of these-even though dreads are too large for me the way I play seated-but the D-41 has always caught my eye and ear. if you see something you like, I'd not hesitate to make a phone call, I'd say there will be some good deals to be had.

    Retirement Sale
Our owner, John, is retiring after over 40 years of running our shop!

As we move forward, we'll be changing our focus slightly and paring down the number of lines we carry. Our Martin guitars are now 15% off, and we're also clearing out inventory from a handful of other brands.

If you've had your eye on something in our shop, send us an email and we'll see if we can make it work for you

and here is a link to the musical historical significance of John Ramsey:

My wife's family is based in Colorado Springs and I have visited Johns shop on many an occasion. Not only are they great people but John builds some first class ukuleles.

Good luck to john in his retirement!

Served at Ft. Carson 1965-67. Wish the shop had been there then, though I didn't mind taking the bus to Denver and the Folklore Center.

Will Sean be taking over the business? Nice place to visit...and good people. Wish them both well.

I bought a Flatiron A5-JR from John in 1991 and always wanted a "The Ramsey" F5. A lot of the working musicians along the Colorado front range played them. Good Luck John!

i didnt ask Al, i just assumed he would be. i think they are downsizing some of the brands they are carrying. i saw a note on the site about a discount on the few Martins remaining and that brand is going away.

i'd say if there's anything on the site you like nows the time to make an offer.
