This Gibson legit?

Strangely enough, the color is the one thing I do like about this Gibson. Is the body much larger than a normal A? Could one swap the neck out to a mandolin neck? I realize it wouldn't make economic sense but throw that concern out of the equation for just a moment.

I have never understood the need for hybred instruments like this. I don't really sound like a mandolin andvyou can't play it like a guitar
