    Default Central Illinois

Any Central Illinois pickers out there? Im a pretty new player (8 months). Looking for some patient soles to let me sit and experience a jam and maybe learn a thing or 2 about playing with others. I feel like that would really help my playing.

What do you like to play, what genre? You might check out c4A, Community for the Arts, Urbana.IL. What part of Central Illinois are you located in?

Right now, I知 just learning and playing base fiddle tunes, practicing chords and chop chords, and practicing technique. My main interest is bluegrass though. As I said I知 very new to the instrument and I feel like I致e grasped the basics and I want to learn how to jam and play with others, hopefully in a learning environment. I would need people who understand that I知 just a beginner! Honestly, the thought of playing with others makes me a little nervous.

If you need a teacher Andy Hatfield is in Peoria. He is as good a teacher as anyone anywhere and a national champion mandolin and guitar player.

Thanks! I’ll look him up, I am shopping around for lessons, I’m unsure if I want to go online school style like artistworks or banjoben or get one on one lessons.
