I'm the newest owner of this instrument, and really pleased to have it. I can't decide what I want to do more - look at it or play it. The fit and finish on it is exquisite, and the sound is a bit mellower than the MT-O I had, but crisper than my 1916 A1. It projects sound nicely, and rings with just enough resonance that it doesn't end up "muddy." After several days of playing, and looking, and playing, I'm quite pleased with this addition to my stable.

    Here are the details:
    • Colorado Englemann spruce top, with V bracing
    • Golden Age “Relic” tuners in vintage brass finish
    • 1 3/16″ width ebony nut
    • Shop made ebony adjustable bridge/saddle
    • Golden Age vintage tailpiece in brass with Pomeroy “lady logo” in sliver
    • Adjustable truss rod and 3 piece laminate neck construction
    • Soft “V” neck profile
    • 10″ Radiused fingerboard with MOP dots and side markers
    • Semi-gloss nitro lacquer finish (gloss top)

That’s a beauty Russ! I was trying to buy it myself, but you beat me to it! I love the violin edges, the headstock scroll, the finish! I hope it plays like butter!

Steve - I'm sorry to have scooped it away on you! It is a really nice instrument. I saw one similar to this 3 years ago and thought someday in the future I'd like to add a violin-style instrument to the herd. Well, the future's here, and at least in this small piece of time, it's pretty damn nice!

That's swell. I've admired his instruments from afar. How about a video?

Congrats, Russ. Don's a fine builder. I enjoy listening to the sound samples and seeing the pics of his builds that he posts on his site.

Love the headstock scroll - different than most scrolls seen around here!

    Hi John.
The scroll and the violin-influenced construction are what appealed to me about the looks, along with the overwhelmingly positive reviews about the sound of Don's instruments. Happily, those reviews were confirmed as I first started playing her...
