Please pardon the cross post from pics, vids. Thought vintage thread applied too.

Pandemic plaid on plaid pajama practice on the good old Gibson. Oh, the things this instrument has seen in its 95 years. I'm the 2nd owner. I was told the original owner was known far and wide for his rousing version of Turkey in the Straw, which was a new hit when he did his weekly barn dances way back when. Always tickled to play it in his memory on his instrument.

Indeed, rare blonde, as I found out after it found me. Thought it was some sort of one-off or something changed with different parts but then found it's twin, 1 serial number away. Exact duplicate! http://www.mandolinarchive.com/gibson/serial/81100
Was told this is early 1925, post-Loar but still, the tone in the room is amazing. Wish I could put something up that wasn't recorded on a phone so you can hear.

Sounds mighty fine to me! I need to learn that first tune-very pretty yet haunting to me anyways. Is there tab for that on the café?

    That was beautiful.

I play a more simplified version of Ashokan Farewell and this one has inspired me to punch it up a bit.

The more I read through John Hartford's Mammoth Fiddle book the more chromatically fancy everything's getting.
