Do you know of a good recording app for Android? I'm specifically wanting one where I can include a title, such as name of piece and date recorded.

It seems like I'm answering my own posts these days. Once again my teacher came through. The app I use for a metronome also has a recorder, which I knew. There's a tiny little pencil in the upper right hand corner that allows you to edit the description.
The app is Soundcorset tuner & metronome. Found out the hard way not to have recorder and metronome going at the same time.
Sherry,
I use the Voice Recorder app that came on my Samsung phone. Not sure if it is Samsung specific, but you can record with it and name it whatever you wish. It has a few different options as to quality of recording. Does pretty good on most things. Hope this helps!

I have a Samsung Galaxy. Seems I've seen Voice Recorder but don't see it in my apps. Where is it?
When you swipe up on your Galaxy to get to all of your apps, there should be a search bar at the top. I searched for Voice, and that as well as the Voicemail app showed up.

Interesting! I found it but it was not on my phone, so I had to install it from Samsung.
Thanks for the info, Jake.
Hi, Sherry.
I did some research on this more than a year ago when I had to replace my Samsung. At the time, my job included conducting interviews and I needed a good, easy way to record. The recorder in the newer Samsungs had a reputation for being problematic, cutting out whenever the heck it felt like it. Not anything I could risk, and at the time there didn't seem to be a good app to download. I ended up using my old Galaxy S5 for interviews.
If you are making short recordings of tunes to track progress, you may do just fine. (I often needed to record an hour or hour-and-a-half of conversation.) But, be aware that the recorder on some of the newer Galaxies may not be foolproof.
I have used "sound recorder" app on my android for years. Has always been reliable, can name/date once you save them to the recording list. Have used for fleeting part of a new tune to whole jam session recording. Will save to phone or sd card, your choice. Works well
It's very easy to get lost, there are many apps with similar or identical names, "voice recorder" and "sound recorder" apps proliferate. Clearly some exist only to try to gain some advertising revenue. Picking the best of the bunch may not be straightforward.
Does Soundcorset Tuner and Metronome read music notation files or TAB?

Attached (below the video), is a 'music notation file with TAB". The regular staff is on top and the TAB below.
And yes, EVERYONE would like the app to play it with sound too.
This would be the very best for an 'app'.

Doug, for a minute there I thought someone had put the Mendelssohn vc in tab!
