    Default F Mandolin gig bag

    Hello there everybody ,

Looking for a gig bag for my beloved f style blue Morgan Monroe mm300 bl , have you got tips where to find the right one at the right size for it as it bothers me bringing the instrument with the case when I'm out and about .

    Thanks to everyone

Is the issue the case being too heavy? If so, I cart my Gibson F-5 around in a Gator polyfoam case. It’s bulkier than a bag, but very light and offers HSC protection, as long as I don’t pile anything on it.

Travelite, like the Gator mentioned above, will work, but is a little bulky. I prefer my Reunion Blues bag (black canvas), but they’re pricier.

Look at Access gig bags. They come in a few 'stages' based on level of protection, features and of course, price. I have a Stage One and. Stage Three, although the Three is actually a Uke bag.

The one is nice and spacious, and was quite affordable. The Three is incredible but is a bit pricey, unless you find a good deal (as I did).

Here's the link for the Access Stage Three mandolin bag. Navigate from there for the other options.

    I am with CES
If I was in the market for a gig bag I would search high and low for the Reunion Blues Continental. I saw a traveling mandolin musician using one of these. He mentioned how his has been an asset to protecting his Kimble 2-point.
    Super protective.

Boulder Alpine is nice. Don’t use it much. I also have a Gator poly foam that I usually use. Depends on what you want/need it for.
    Thanks

Several mandolins of varying quality-any one of which deserves a better player than I am.......

Another Gator user here and it has done the job nicely for me. I've even flew with it in the overhead compartment on a plane.

I feel like Rip Van Winkle, I must have dozed off and woke up to gig bags being $179! Please tell me it was just a bad dream.

I was just getting used to the idea that hardshell cases were $100..................

I got the RB bag for $124 on sale on Reverb, ironically from a store about 45 minutes from my house. Compared to the 25-50 dollar bags I tried back when I couldn’t stand the thought of paying that much for a bag, IMO, they’re worth the extra coin.

But, then, I’ll pay 35 bucks for a pick, so...

Still haven’t been able to justify buying a Calton or the like. If I were a touring pro or flew with my mandolins a lot, though, I probably would.
