    Default Japanese Folk Songs

They fascinated me with their melodies which are unusual for the Europe where I live. I harmonized the melody based on the European tradition. But I hope it doesn‘t matter.Because this recording wanted to be a „small bridge“, leading to the beauties of Japanese music.

Great. The scale of Japanese folk songs is unique with five scales. The world-wide doremifah has seven scales. Difficult for the new generation of Japanese.

    Thank you.
Yes you are right. I was very interested in the melodies in Japanese five scales. It's something different than I usually play.

    Hello Mr. ondrej
I listened to your wonderful old Japanese songs and remembered the Japanese culture that I had forgotten. Japanese folk songs have a clause that means melody. The scale has become difficult and unfamiliar to modern Japanese people. Kuroda Bushi was sung at a celebration event. Sakura Sakura seems to have been sung as a song for children in the Edo period, but it has been inherited as a song of Japanese cherry blossoms that bloom in spring soon. Komoriuta is a lullaby for children. Thanks.

    Hello masa 618
Thank you for your reflection. I once tried to learn shakuhachi. I didn't understand the original music for this flute. The music was very different for me. But there were also Japanese folk songs in the book, and they fascinated me.
