Hey folks! I recently stumbled across the Harvard music IQ test and was pleasantly surprised by their measurement methods. It's actually three separate tests measuring rhythm, pitch recognition, and melody recognition.
One thing to keep in mind is that you don't have to take your test score to the grave. Most people consider IQ tests to be a measure of natural cognitive ability and something that cannot be improved. In this case, however, your scores can improve dramatically with a little practice. Pitch, rhythm, and melody recognition are all things that can and should be continually improved by all musicians. This test is just a good indicator of what your strengths are and what skills you may want to practice!
