I just purchased a $7000.00 mando from a reputable dealer. It was handmade by a well known mandolin builder which is frequently mentioned on this board. When I unpacked the mando, much to my surprise I found what appear to be marks on the back under the varnish. I really don’t think that these marks are naturally occurring in the maple. Attached are a couple of photos. What do you think?
