Yay! Cool to see a choro offering in the mix, and a favorite of mine from hearing Coltrane play it, "I'm Old-fashioned".
CD on the way -- the hard copy is the best audio.

Listen and watched quite a bit of Don and his excellent band playing these tunes!
Tom, I took your suggestion and ordered the hard copy.
    Thanks for that recommendation.
I will just have to wait for it in suspense!

Sounds sublime! Ordered the downloaded recording. Does the hard copy have liner notes that say what mandolin was played on the tracks? Curious as to whether the Apitius jazz model was used on any of the tunes. I have yet to hear a good recording of that mandolin model. Maybe Don can reply?

    Hi,

If you listen to the recent Beer and Mandolins podcast with Don, he talks about which mandolin was played on which tracks.

Maybe he will, but I can tell you that both the mandolins and guitars used are listed on the CD jacket. And on which tracks.

I'm keeping my copy in the car right now, so don't have it in front of me. You could probably order one and get it in the mail before I get around to walking out to get it.

Downbeat's poll is open. Sign up for their free newsletter, and then you
can vote. We could make history and write in Jethro Burns as hall of famer, and Don Stiernberg as miscellaneous instrumentalist of the year. I wonder if a mandolinist has ever gotten votes?
