Thread: New Mandolin Day!

  1. #1

    Default New Mandolin Day!

Word is there's a FedEx man driving around somewhere with my new Northfield F5S in Amber/Tortoise. I've read all the "how long do I wait to open it?" threads and I'm not sure how long I'll be able to hold off. It's not cold out, so 8 minutes ought to do it, right? Where is he anyway?

Everything like this will really drive you nuts all the way up to the point of opening it and playing it,then you can breathe a deep sigh of relief,,just open it and get on with it....

No need to wait, just open it up and enjoy it when it comes. I fall in love with my F5S's tone all over again every single day. Have fun!

I would wait at least a few hours.. specially if the box feels warm from riding in the truck all day, and your space has the AC running.

Wait until the box feels the same temp and the room, then open the box and feel the case. If the case feels room temp... it should be safe to open.

Enjoy your new mandolin! That Northfield amber looks great. I got one just like it about a month ago and really love it. Congratulations!

Congrats. Very nice. Two years ago I visited Elderly Instruments. I played nearly everything hanging on the wall including many well regarded labels. The best, to my ears, mandolin I played that day was a Northfield F style. Had it been an A style, it would have been going home with me.

I always love it when they come while I’m at work...that way I can dive in when I get home and don’t have to wait with it in the house, lol

If it sounds half as good as it looks, you should be very happy.

    Congrats!
