    Default NMD Morris A5

I recently acquired a morris a5, and I have to say I am shocked by the quality of this mandolin. My A5 has a redwood top and curly maple back. She's loud as all heck and has such sustain that even my wife commented on it. The tone is more modern with sweet sounding bell like highs accompanied by a nice, clear thumpin' loud G string. The playability is outstanding. Due to some nerve damage in my arms, my hands tend to cramp up with prolonged play, but I can jam on this a5 with no pain whatsoever. It's easily one of the best playing mandolins I've ever had. Every day I play this thing I feel like I've robbed Sonny for the price he sells them at. If you are looking for an affordable American made instrument, look no further. You will not regret it!

I have a pava, and I think it might actually get dethroned as my daily player. THAT'S how much I like this morris.

Howard Morris builds a great sounding and looking mandolin! He is top notch and gives great service. I am a huge fan. Congratulations for your purchase. You will be very happy. And what a good guy "Sonny" Howard Morris is, too!

Congrats on the Morris! I have sang Sonny's praises many times on this forum. Great instruments at really good prices. My Morris has been dethroned as a daily player by my Ruhland, but is still a great instrument that gets playing time and will stay with me forever.

I do adore the Pava. Let's see your Morris! I like looking at mandolins just about as much as I like playing them!

Wow! That is nice looking! I really like the binding color. All that flame on the back! Nice, nice! Play the strings off of it!
