    Default Ordering strings--any luck recently?

I need to order some cheap mandola strings. I tried to order just strings from a certain vendor who will go unnamed, who sat on my order for a week without shipping. I ended up cancelling. But I need inexpensive strings for an in-the-white string-up, and I needed them on Friday last. I know with the COVID bidness there's delay in all shipping everywhere, but I'm wondering if anyone out there has had good luck with a quick delivery on cheap strings?

I just ordered three sets of D’Addario EXP 74cm mandolin strings from Strings and Beyond and they shipped and arrived promptly. They were quick to correct a typo (mine) in my delivery address as well when I sent them an email about it.

I stocked up out of habit in January - preferring the Curt Mangan's, it depends on what you consider cheap ? Getting them overnight at this point is probably gonna cost more than the stings to be honest. Finding loop ends might also be challenging but you could pair 2 sets of guitar strings from anywhere.

I usually buy from JustStrings if I'm buying online. They had a notice on their site that shipments might be delayed, but I recently got several sets from them in less than a week.

Not everyone is fully staffed these days, so I think you're going to have to be patient when you order something online. And by "you" I mean all of us.

I can't remember when I didn't have at least 3 or 4 sets of strings laying around, just in case. At this writing, I have 7 sets. A couple were freebies that I would never use but if a string thief came along and stole the others, well..........

received my order today from Juststrings, i think i ordered sunday night. couple mandolin and couple guitar sets. the shipping companies have posted delays also due to shipping essential items vs nonessential, everybody has limited manpower in these days. usually juststrings/strings by mail, get me the orders in 2-3 days, i wasn't in a hurry so it didn't matter.
if i had some mandola i would send them tomorrow by USPS to you but i have none of those.

check TMS, if Dennis has some he would get them out same day i bet, if you call/email in time.
here you go, place the order tonight, pretty sure they would go out tomorrow:

As always I chime in about Mapes strings in Tennessee where they actually MAKE the wire for the strings.
You can't buy them in stores, only from the factory.
They will make up anything you like in addition to having a huge selection of packaged products. Nice people answer the phone too!
They have been making piano strings for over a century as well as supplying other string brands with wire.

Hard to beat free shipping, even if you don't get a couple of pieces of candy.

Strings and Beyond.....as mentioned above, and Curt Mangan having been shipping throughout the last few months.

I couldn't get a few D'Addario items in my last Strings and Beyond order, as D'Addario have been shut down and still are for the time being.

I use Amazon but I dislike that they knock out small businesses. With COVID I see many small businesses going under and Amazon grabbing up their market share. When this ends I plan to support local businesses as best I can

I've got it now. Amazon is responsible for COVID-19. I'm glad we finally cleared that up.

To quote Sara Palin: "How's that workin' out for ya?" Wouldn't'a thought they'd be interchangeable applied to either ... uh ... instrument.
