Hi, everybody. I started a blog when I was preparing for some flatpick and mandolin contests years ago, to share the tools I was using to practice. I recorded a lot of backing tracks to practice with, which were a great practice tool. Often the tracks in instructional materials would go from super-slow, to quite brisk, to way-beyond-my-ability with no in-between speeds. So I made tracks that graduated in much smaller increments (usually 5 or 10 bpm increase between tracks). They were useful, but so time-intensive to make that I wanted to share them with others to save them the trouble of making tracks themselves. That's why I started the blog.
There was a pretty long period where I wasn't updating it very frequently, but I've added some new backing tracks to it. Cuckoo's Nest and Leather Britches are the most recent ones.
If you're someone who likes to practice with backing tracks, these might be good for you. There are 30 or so jam standards that I've recorded backing tracks for, each at a variety of tempos from 150 bpm to 240 bpm, or thereabouts. They're all free.
