Hi all, I asked this a couple days ago in CBOM but have only had one reply so far. Forgive me for posting the same twice.
When did Gibson make the change in mandocello neck construction?
Thanks

Off the top of my head I don't know the answer but I don't think there are two piece necks. I think technically they are three piece necks because there is a thin center strip in there as well. If I am wrong let me know.

I couldn't find the thread on a cursory search, but I seem to remember that many of the pre-truss rod Gibson mandolins look like they have a 3-piece neck, but it is not a true 3-piece lamination, just a sort of inlaid strip down the back of the neck. If I'm wrong, I hope somebody with more knowledge sets me straight.
Thanks John. If that's the case, when did truss rods come in?
I know the headstock is three piece.
Gibson patented the truss rod in '21.
