    Default Boozy impulse purchase

I had been considering an electric mandolin, but not super seriously. I had bookmarked a Mandocaster on Reverb just to keep an eye out. Saturday night, after sitting out with my wife and drinking wine, I logged on to Reverb just to kill some time. I decided to put in a low offer on the Mandocaster thinking it would not be accepted. My Mandocaster (with upgraded Almuse pickups) arrived today

Well, it could have been worse. A buddy of mine was drinking beer and watching some knife channel, and ended up with 100 pocket knives for $99!

If you don't plug in, you'll have the perfect isolation mandolin!

I have a small Orange Crush amp with a headphone option, so I can wail away

Well Dave, you first were relaxing on the porch with your wife and some wine, and then ended up with a new mandolin. Sounds like a great evening to me! Congratulations! Have fun with it!

Cool electric mando! The Almuse pickups are great. When I got my Mandobird VIII some years back I upgraded the pickup and the bridge (Almuse, Moongazer) and its been great fun.

Great thread title. It would make a popular main board discussion. I know I have made more than one lowball offer on Reverb after a couple of Manhattans.

I once woke up to find I'd bid over a thousand pounds on a beech buggy. Must have seemed like something I needed in my life while drinking bourbon.
Thankfully I was outbid and my wife never found out.

I've been shopping all week. Dunno how to play any of them, but boy they're pretty cool!

I make compulsive bids even when sober.
