Does anyone know about the mandolin Ricky Skaggs is playing? Is it the famous one I think it is, with the Gibson logo gouged out with a penknife? Where is that mandolin now?

Ricky is playing a Dave Harvey modern Gibson that had the headstock scroll broken off, so Dave decided to give it the Monroe treatment after talking about it with Ricky. A few other luthiers have made replicas of it as well--I think Gary Vessel did at least one. Monroe's mandolin is in a museum in Nashville now.

that was a nice video. cant underestimate Jethro or Sam ever.
