My email got hacked

To those of you who have bought Armrests from me or have corresponded with me via email, please know that my email got hacked. If you receive and email from me with a strange looking download, DON'T click on it.

At first I thought, oh, wow, he follows up 18 months later to see how the armrests are working out! I hadn't had enough coffee. Thankfully, I'd had enough not to click.

(The armrest is still great, BTW)

Happens all the time. I get e-mails from people I haven't heard from for years, with a cryptic li'l link. I once had my address book hijacked, and bunches of those phishing e-mails went out in my name. Not much that can be done about it, apparently; veteran computer users know how to spot 'em.

This year I got one from an old, old relationship -- somewhat tempting, but I just assumed she was a victim of hacking, rather than nostalgically reconsidering. Oh well.

I know it happens all the time, but it was a first for me!... our IT guy at the church helped me get it sorted out, so hopefully all better.

I got it also. I'm glad I have a Mac. Most of those virus are designed for Microsoft products.

I got one of those. Looked kind of fishy, and I never download anything unless I know exactly what it is, anyway.

Everyone that got the fake email from me said it was either a short couple of sentences with a link to some download, or a reply to a relatively old email with a link to a download... obvious phishing. It's gotten crazy actually! Several coworkers got hacked and I've gotten a few emails from folks I've had correspondence with with obvious phishing attempts!
