Default Song John Reischman plays in Fretboard Journal

I was watching John talk about his mandolin in the video at: https://www.fretboardjournal.com/vid...-loar-mandolin
I really like the bit of music he's playing at around 4:25. Although I've been listening to his album 'Walk Along John,' I'm not very familiar with his catalog at large. Anyone know what he's playing and where I could find a recording? Thanks!

I'm pretty sure that's Vou Vivendo from the Reishman & Miller CD "Road Trip". Bumpy Road and Road Trip are both wonderful duet recordings with John Miller on guitar.

yes, it is Vou Vivendo (I will live! I am going to live or also translated as "living the life" I've heard it said). just to make a quick point, John recorded it in C, which is not a usual key for it. Most charts and many usual jams (known as rodas) will play it in F. I have also heard it played in G. Easy to move over one course if you learn it. F is nice if you are playing it solo. If you learn it for jamming with others, starting in F is a better choice IMHO.

Another great old Pixinguinha tune. I'm used to playing it in C, but the people I play with now want it in F.

Nice to hear John and John again! Thanks for that link, Mike.

For contrast, here's a nice live version by Paulo Moura's band:
