Default Any recommendations for online lessons on picking techniques?

    Hi,

Title says it all really! I'm trying to take advantage of lockdown to improve my picking technique from, well, pretty negligible...my background is as a fingerstyle bass / Spanish guitar player before I discovered the joy of 8 string instruments.

Any suggestions for good online tutorials? (Free or paid for.)

    Cheers,

    Andy

Just searching YouTube will pull up a lot of tutorials. Those are free. I've subscribed up until recently to Artistworks and was enrolled in Mike Marshall's classes. Good body of lessons, techniques, and huge library of tunes. That costs money but it was worth it to me just for the library if nothing else.
    We few, we happy few.

Yeah …. Artist Works as John writes is a good investment in learning. Another direction you can take is live teacher lessons through SKYPE or another live view program. A live lesson teacher can direct your practice and help diagnose your playing habits to get a good technical start with your instrument. R/

Yes, we've been planning that I will have a video date with my tame tutor when I can...at the moment we're finding that we never know quite when we have time so many thanks for the recommendation, I'll follow it up

Try Mandolessons. My favorite site for mando instructions.

In addition to the above, here are six pages of mandolin instruction courses to choose from: https://www.homespun.com/mandolin/
