Tim O'Brien and Darrell Scott do a good version of Paradise in this fine set from 'Live At Hippy Jack's'.

It's altogether a great listen, with a lot of good mandolin from Tim. Paradise is their last number, starting about 20.30 minutes in.

I have been listening to a few songs off his most recent (2018) cd Tree of Forgiveness. They are really amazing. They are just as striking and compelling as his classic songs. Summer's End and Farmers Egg and Daughter Night(Lincoln 1967) are my favorites so far. The video for Summer's End is tragic.

Health wise - certainly. But his 2018 album was his most successful and by all accounts he was thrilled with that and with all the touring, awards, etc that went along with it. Jason Isbell wrote a tribute to John for the New York times - I liked the part where John looked down at the clock on the floor during a concert and leaned over to Jason and said "I wish we had more time".

Fans got another album and he left while on a roll.

A truly sad thing...such an amazing performer/song writer...privileged to have seen him multiple times over the last 40+ years...finally gets to play again with his ol' buddy Steve Goodman...RIP John...thanks for the memories...
    Thanks for your support?

Austin City Limits replayed his Fall 2018 show last night. Reminds us of what we lost.

I have to wonder what he would have written about this whole mess? I’m sure there would have been humor and irony along with a little caution. But it would have had a tune that would not leave your head!
