    Default Instruction or "How to" for a Beginner at Audio Editing

    I've recorded some good 24 bit tracks of my band but I lack knowledge and experience to edit and mix them. Is there a book or an online source that anyone recommend s? Something like Don Julin's Mandolin for Dummies would be ideal.

    I have experience doing simple editing of two tracks with Audacity (I've also downloaded Reaper) but my efforts at eq and compression have been disappointing.

    I'd get familiar with Reaper if since you already have it.

    It sounds like you multi-tracked it. A good place to start is with some panning. Bass and lead vocal in the middle and then put the instruments on either side kind of like you stand on stage. That may show you what needs to happen with EQ. I wouldn't do too much compression.
