Default Does this look like an issue?

I noticed these small seam lines today on my Fern, they're only visible on the tail end of the mandolin and only in the areas I've circled. Hoping this is somewhat normal with the changing of the seasons and not indicative of another issue. Iowa winters are brutally dry but I keep this mandolin cased from October to April every year only taking it out to play and keep fresh humidipaks on hand all year round. Thanks in advance

Can you look very closely under good light and see if the line is actually on the edge of the binding or past. Sometimes when the binding is scraped after color the line is not to the edge of the binding, but instead still on the binding. If this is what happened, I wouldn't worry, but then seeing in person is so much easier than seeing detail in a pic.

It looks like it's a pretty even 1/16" past the binding edge

Not to be confusing, the color line is the binding edge correct, or does the binding go into the color. It is hard to see sometimes, but happens more often than you think.

My guess is they didn't scrape the color to the edge of the binding to get a very clean line and not have to worry about scraping into the wood.

It's probably ok, but it could also be a sign of a tailblock which is starting to come loose. If so, it should be attended to immediately. It could also simply be that the lacquer is sinking into the seam, which we see from time to time.
It would be a good idea loosen the strings, push down on the top and back at the edge, and also push back and forth on the rim in that area, and make sure nothing is moving.

In any case, keep your eyes on it. If the separation gets worse, take it to a good repairman.

Most likely just finish checks at the seams. Could be from big swings in humidity/temperature.
Were the back-ribs seam going loose under tailpin it would open pretty quickly. And would require attention just as quickly.
