Prayers for his family. Not trying to be disrespectful at all when I say I bet there’ll be some unbelievable music at that funeral. Gonna go listen to New Orleans Function by Satchmo now.

For now, New Orleans has closed second lines; I’m presuming this includes the traditional jazz funerals as well. Hopefully, when we come out on the other side of this pandemic, a proper New Orleans send-off/memorial will be arranged. If so, yes, there should be some unbelievable music.

Very sad news. Ellis was the definition of class and had a huge and positive impact on so many musicians.

Sorry, yes, was on my phone earlier and trying to be brief. I hope the family is eventually able to celebrate his life without the current necessary restrictions. My brother is a pastor, and this is a tough time for most, but especially for those losing loved ones. They've actually done some online funerals for those who didn't feel like they could wait...
