We had a slew of festival gigs this year. Really good haul of them. Two down... all the rest look shaky. Doubt we'll do any of them. God I miss it!!! The fun and comradeship of playing with the band. The stupid and often hilarious moments from crowd or band. the occasional argument. The working on new tunes....

Ah this is crap. I know it's a first world problem and all that, but...

One good thing - I'm actually playing my mandolin a heck of a lot more and am already improving as a result. I tend to put it to one side when the band's busy - and I know that's really bad - so maybe from now on it won't be that way, even when things do get better.

stay well all of you x

Rob, yes I agree we are all extremely blessed to have this as a problem in our lives. But that doesn't mean that making music is not a real and valuable thing to all uf us that do it, and we cherish those moments. Good luck to you, and may you have many many more festivals more to attend.

"Progress" report: 21 gigs canceled to date, loss of revenue slightly over $1.4K I'm not counting on anything all through April, but I'm waiting to get notification from the different venues.

Besides, I miss the people with whom I perform, and those for whom I perform. Bummer.
