Thank you all! I'm still trying to get these puppies in tune after nearly 60 years.
Stay safe and be well!! Mandoln pickers survive!
Yo Hackensack! My hometown. Thanks for the music and the inspiration. (I've been told you have a blonde A4 same era as mine, 1925)
First he and Tony's EMD blew my head off, then he showed me the way to Barstow while Janice was cooking in the background.
Then we went to France and fiddled with Django's Steph with Opuses spinning in our heads and dreams of Thailand and Japan.
Jacob inspiring us from the car cassette player while Jethro, Tiny and Rudy where hanging just around the corner. It was all new to me.
The Dawg showed us that obsession can not only be an asset, but might be the true energy source that fuels all the great ones.
Happy Birthday Dawg. Keep em coming Buddy. Seems you ain't even NEAR to slowing down. Good for you.. Good for us.

Happy Birthday! And Thank You for the initial mando inspiration and all the years since.
Peace
Happy Birthday Dawg! Wishing you more and better - that's what you've always given to all of us.
Happy Birthday Dawg! Picked my poor version of Japan tonight, and even with me playing it it sure sounds great!

Happy Birthday Dawg! You are my musical hero. Your music inspired me to pick up the instrument 20 years ago and i have played everyday since. The mandolin has brought my life joy and blessings including giving me some of my best friends in life I have made while learning to play this music. Thank you!
It doesn't matter . . . I'm going to WINFIELD!!!!!
Happy birthday to one of the greatest tone poets and tune poets ever!!! When will you be recording “Dawg’s Shelter-in-Place”? I’d call it “Dawg’s Quarantine,” but that would be too tight of a leash.
still trying to turn dreams into memories
Happy (belated) birthday, Dawg!
You are the reason that I picked up a mandolin in the first place. The music-listening public probably won't thank you for that, but I will!
Every Dawg has his day! Hope you had a good one, DG.

Happy Birthday Dawg, Keep on Strumin !
David is one heck of a musician! I can't even hold a pick to his bright light! He's been an inspiration to myself and countless others throughout the ages! I first fell for him with the record my Dad gave me of Old and in the Way-the album cover was inspiration then listening to it, it opened up a mandolin obsession then came the Tone Poems when I was a teenager and that really did it for me. That's when the vintage mandolin obsession really started and has never stopped! Thanks again David for all the joy you've brought to my life!
A big happy BD to you man. Gratitude always for the tunes and your work. Been a faithful for 40+ years....

Hey David,
Wishing you all the best as you enter your next 25+ years! Rudy accomplished so much and I know you will continue to as well. Stay healthy! Stay safe and keep on pluckin'! Sheri
A slightly belated Happy Birthday!
Coincidentally, my wedding day...but a few years later in 1996. We played Tone Poems during dinner at the reception. And I'm now 51, the same age as DG in 1996.
