Default Anyone have experiencee with a zipper repair kit?

I have a case that I believe once came with an Eastman that is similar to the one in this picture.

The zippers for the accessories broke (not the one that holds the top closed, securing the mandolin). It's quite a nice case and I was wondering if anyone had experience using a zipper repair kit to fix it. (This one from Amazon I'm using just as an example https://www.amazon.com/Zipperstop-22.../dp/B0054JQCBI).

Originally, it used two zipper pulls so that you could open it from either side, although that's not terribly important.

Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated.

While I have not used the repair kit, I have repaired zippers. What part of the zipper broke? Did if physically break or is not working?

If you can get it back on simply put some epoxy at the end of the zipper to keep the pull from coming off. I have done this several times, it only takes a small amount. The piece that was clamped on to keep this from happening most likely has come off too, and you are replacing it with the epoxy.

A zip-tie makes a great mechanical zipper stop. White or black to match the zipper. Solid but easily removable. Install it from under the zipper if desired to hide the zip-tie lock mechanism, just wrap it around the zipper and through the cloth, insert the zip-tie end into the zip-tie lock and pull it tight, then clip off the extra length.

I've had similar problems with an Eastman case, and with other zippers that came from China. I think that Chinese zipper technology lags behind that country's achievements in other areas (such as mandolin manufacture). I await Pres. Xi initiating the Great Zip Forward.

And, that pic is of a very old Eastman CB50 double bass bag. Every zipper on that bag has failed in one way or another. I'm sure the bag is 20 years old, I suspect they have improved the zippers by now.

Ideally , unscrew the cover from the case, replace the zipper... I upsized * the YKK coil zipper to # 10, & never has an issue since.
Originally builder's wife sewed the DIY case cover , *(a 1 off, as it's a mandola, and cases were rare),
so they made the case too.. used a toothed jacket zipper, Originally...

Coil zippers are designated by their width when closed , so a #10 is 10mm wide..
