Hmm, I always figured mandolinists need an F5 for bluegrass looks, an A5 for better sound, an A4 (or F4) for oval hole tone, a flat top cuz why not, two different flat tops, cuz you need the variety of a flatiron, a mid MO, and a Sawchyn, a bowlback in case you play classical, a mandola because they're awesome, an octave and a 'cello because now you like low tones, two more F5s to keep in alternate tunings, and three more F5s and another A5 because you built one and then got addicted........
