What a lovely book! Selection of tunes is generous, well-notated and documented with sources, historical info and where to go to hear played/performed. The transcriptions are easy to read and follow, in down-home style and superior penmanship.

Clearly, Tristan is passionate about mandolin and old-time music, a winning combination. A quality addition to the learning library, for sure.

Got mine yesterday after ordering it on Saturday- speedy service! I echo AlanN's comments- killer tunes, easy to read notation and great historical context. Recommended. Looking forward to committing these to memory this weekend.
