Question What Mandolin is this (and more)

    Hey guys,

So I found an old mandolin on a flea market. And I am new to world of mandolins, so I did some research on where this beautiful thing was made and so on.

The only thing I could find was the name Dreima, which seems to have been a firm back in the 30's that made hardware parts for string instruments.

So what kind of mandolin is this? And where was it made? What time?

I restringed the thing, everything else seems to be original...

Does someone have an answer to one of my questions? I hope so!

    Thanks in advance!

    Laurens

Hello, "Harmonie" is the sign for luthier Anton Lorbeer who worked at the Company (VEB) Musima in Markneukirchen, East-"Germany" (according to http://schlaggitarren.de/).
It's a "portuguese style" flatback mandolin.
The exact same scratchplate is very commonly found in low-end models from that area.
    I'd say it's from the 50ies / 60ies

I would have guessed Eastern European, possibly Romanian.
The name "premia harmonie" translates from Romanian (according to google) as "prize in harmony". (Perhaps it is 'Dreima', I read the first letter as a 'p'.)

See for example, the present-day 'Hora' brand mandolins
    https://brandsofromania.com/product/...e-mandolin-ii/

At any rate, during that era, there was some similarity, perhaps sharing of parts or designs, of some former Eastern-Bloc products.
