Music "Stand" Challenge

I'm in the process of moving my home office to a different room, which serves multiple purposes. This is where I practice my mandolin and am constantly having to move my music stand around. Last night as I was watching a Brad Laird video on one of my desktop monitors, it occurred to me how handy it would be to somehow display my music on or in front of that monitor. I'm hoping someone else has figured out the best way to do this. I'm reluctant to use clips at the top of the monitor. Another thought is to try a cookbook holder that I could place in front of the monitor.

I ran across this $25 table-top music stand at Guitar Center and like it a lot. Not sure if it would work for your planned setup, but may be worth considering.

I use an art easel that I picked up at a Hobby Lobby. Folds up nicely. Works for me when I'm sitting at my computer desk. And right now it's on sale for $5.49. When I bought mine four years ago, I had to pay full retail of $10.99.

There are stands that secretaries use to copy typing from. Look for "typing stand" online.

I'm away every other week so needed something simple & got this in a stationers shop in London.
It ticked all the boxes for me, packs flat, light, simple set up & robust, was cheap too.

I got this one at our local AC Moore before they closed the store. It is pretty solid and looks nice but folds pretty compactly for storage. I can't find a brand on it but it was in the easel section.

A clear plastic "treadmill book holder" (they seem to run from $12 to $30) should hook over the top of most monitors.

I can assure you that they DO conveniently hook over the top of most car's steering wheels, as long as you're not actually driving! Works great while double-parked on 71st St. in Manhattan, playing mandolin while waiting for my wife...

Ah, this is the same one, even cheaper on Amazon. And it closes like this and works great. Very sturdy even for large hardcover books.

I faced the same dilemma. I don’t know how to post links, but check out bestbookstand (one word) on amazon.com. Several sizes available, light weight, folds flat, has fold up clips to hold pages open which don’t get in the way when you don’t need them. I use it all the time and take it with me when I travel. I think mine was $16. There are almost 6,000 reviews 4.7 out of 5 overall. Lots of questions answered on the site as well.

Repurposed stuff. This is an electric guitar stand holding the top portion of an old Hamilton wire music stand that I rarely use.

Wow, wonderful ideas! I have a collapsible stand I keep beside my chair in the living room, it folds and unfolds rapidly, and fits in basically a tote umbrella-sized case, but those stands would just sit on my coffee table. Nice!

Here is one I have had for a long time. Folds flat, is light and small yet still works well. Hershey bar is for size comparison, and eating later.

Not sure how much help the Hershey bar is, since they come in a dozen different sizes. And, how come the "fun" size is so small? Bigger would be more fun, right?

I forgot I even had one like the one posted by pops1. It was hidden behind a bunch of junk on my desk. The top of mine measures roughly 9" across.

I have to be gluten free so that means that bar is only ok for me in the 1.45oz size.
