    Default Wintergrass Vintage Instrument Showcase

This was my first Wintergrass and the vintage instrument showcase was one of the highlights. At this year's showcase John Reischman and Patrick Sauber played an array of vintage guitars and mandos and some new stuff - including a great sounding pair of instruments built by Jason Bowerman. These videos feature John on his 1924 Loar and Patrick playing a 1935 D28 and in the other a 1933 (I believe) D-18.

Thanks, Evan. That 35 D-28 sounds like a monster guitar. John's Loar is as fine as it gets.

Hey Bill - we did, we launched the "Ella Sessions" project at Wintergrass. Bruce Harvie and I set up a mobile recording studio and got some great video too. We recorded John Reischman, Isaac Eicher, Forrest O'Conner, Tim Connell and Tristan Scroggins. We have another dozen mandolin players we hope to record over the next several months. Stayed tuned for content!
